Amir Khan Got India's Highest Award from Indian President

ARKAamir Khan is known for not attending film award functions, and even though he’s won awards for his movies, he’s not been at the events to collect them. But this was a different kind of awards ceremony. It was the presentation of the Padma awards, among the highest honours in India. The awards are presented by the Indian president, and Aamir Khan was in New Delhi yesterday (March 31) to collect his Padma Bhushan.

Looking quite dapper in a bandhgala, Aamir accepted his award from Indian president Pratibha Patil. He didn’t stay around to interact with people after the awards ceremony, but hey, at least he was there.

At the ceremony, music maestro A R Rahman also received the Padma Bhushan award, while cricketer Virendra Sehwag and badminton player Saina Nehwal were honoured with the Padma Shri.
